Dr. B.J. Parsons
Practice Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. B.J. Parsons has felt a special bond with animals for as long as she can remember—she even recalls nursing her family dog back to health at a very young age after the pooch had an unfortunate encounter with a car. For Dr. Parsons, working in the veterinary industry and leading a team of caring professionals in order to help animals simply comes naturally!
Dr. Parsons grew up in western New York State surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses. She received her undergraduate degree from Oglethorpe University and then attended the University of Georgia for veterinary school. In 1985, she purchased Kanuga Animal Clinic and has been serving the pets and animal owners of Hendersonville ever since. Dr. Parsons is particularly fond of reproduction work and helping new pet owners get started off on the right foot. She also likes the fact that no two days around the hospital are ever quite the same.
Dr. Parsons has two grown children and lives with a pair of lovable English setters named Cash and Twister. She raises and shows the breed and has been doing so for over 35 years—she’s even an American Kennel Club conformation, junior showmanship, and hunt-test judge!
